Hercules Tool is proud to announce a revolutionary technology in a vertical drilling tool, the RMS MaxDrill. Patent pending, the RMS MaxDrill will help resolve many of the problems the industry is confronting in the vertical sections saving time and money. The RMS MaxDrill is proven to drill faster, increase bit life, reduce stick-slip and provide a clean round straight hole geometry. The RMS MaxDrill tool is 22-foot-long-8-inch diameter tool with internal mass that is focused on the drill bit. This tool drills 9 7/8" to 12 1/4" and has 6 5/8" API box threads on each end allowing direct bit attachment and a short pin cross to a mud-motor if desired or can be run off the top drive.

The RMS MaxDrill is balanced to decrease rotational whirl or wobble associated with higher rotational speed. The weight and the balance point are concentrated at the bit connection transferring the energy into the stabilized bit. Due to all the energy concentrated so close to the bit increases the bit's inertia to reduce stick-slip and decreases or eliminates the bit bounce increasing bit life and creates a more circular geometry. The high tensioned outer body on the RMS MaxDrill allows for more WOB (up to 80klbf) with no bending or buckling, creates tremendous rotational stability and the centralization of axial forces.

Roller cone bits and PDC bits are harder than rock yet they break down quicker than they should. Its all about drilling through rock with stable force. Even at 80,000 pounds WOB the RMS MaxDrill tool can be run efficiently maintaining control and stability increasing ROP and bit life dramatically.

The RMS MaxDrill excels in hard rock and formation change. During initial testing in actual field operations the RMS MaxDrill drilled through 300 ft of chert increasing ROP, tripled bit life and created a more concentric borehole (no reamers required) which increased completion efficiency.
